1. ‘62% oppose Greenland International Hospital’
Survey by medical workers’ union, local group against hospital

Regardless of the ongoing debate over how to gauge public opinion about the establishment of Greenland International Hospital, the local branch of a medical workers’ union and an area group that opposes commercializing medical service went ahead and conducted a survey.

61.6 percent of the respondents opposed the hospital’s establishment. 24.6 percent were in favor and 13.8 percent said they were undecided.

Among those opposed, the plurality, at 49.8 percent, said the commercial hospital would be over-focused on generating profits. The plurality of those who support the hospital, at 39.4 percent, said it would improve local medical service.

The pollster Research Plus also took part in the survey. 1,000 area residents were asked standardized questions in one-on-one telephone interviews August 16th and 17th. The survey has a 95 percent level of confidence and a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent.

시민단체 녹지병원 여론조사…"62% 반대"

공론화 논의와 관계없이 의료연대 제주지역본부와 의료영리화 저지 도민운동본부가 발표한 녹지병원 여론조사 결과 응답자의 61.6%가 녹지병원 개설에 반대 의견을 나타냈습니다.

찬성은 24.6%, 잘 모르겠다는 응답은 13.8%로 집계됐습니다.

개설을 불허해야 하는 이유로는 '병원이 이윤 추구에 집중할 것이다'가 49.8%로 가장 높았고, 개설 허가 이유로는 '도내 의료수준이 높아질 것'이라는 응답이 39.4%로 가장 많이 나왔습니다.

이번 조사는 의료연대 등이 리서치플러스조사연구소에 의뢰해 지난 16일과 17일 이틀 동안 도민 1천명을 대상으로 정형화된 설문지를 통한 일대일 전화 면접으로 진행했으며 95% 신뢰수준에 표본오차는 플러스마이너스 3.1% 포인트입니다.
