Discounts, easier parking for holiday shoppers

The provincial government is incentivizing people to do their Chuseok holiday shopping at traditional markets and local businesses, rather than large retailers.

Shoppers who use Jeju Bank’s (제주통) Jejutong Card qualify for a 10,000 won discount if they spend at least 50,000 won at traditional markets or local stores through September 23rd.

Also, the Supermarket Cooperative Association’s roughly 210 member shops are cutting prices by up to 30 percent on 40 items needed for Chuseok rites between September 16th and the 23rd.

Finally, authorities are relaxing parking rules around Seomun Market and the five-day markets in Daejeong, Pyoseon, Goseong, and Seongsan to make it easier for shoppers to get in and out.

추석 맞아 전통시장·골목상권 이용 촉진

제주도가 추석 명절을 맞아 전통시장과 골목상권 이용 촉진에 나섰습니다.

제주은행에서 발급한 제주통카드를 이용해 오는 23일까지 전통시장이나 골목상권에서 5만 원 이상 결제할 경우 1만 원까지 할인받을 수 있습니다.

슈퍼마켓협동조합 소속 210여 군데 매장에서는 오는 16일부터 23일까지 제수용품 40개 종목을 30%까지 할인 판매합니다.

이와함께 서문공설시장과 대정, 표선, 고성, 성산오일장에 대해서는 시장 주변에 주차를 허용해 접근성을 높일 계획입니다.
