Private security guards, banners to dissuade people from swimming

Provincial officials are working to prevent water accidents at island beaches, which are officially closed for the year.

They plan to assign private security staff to the closed beaches by Friday and put up banners to inform people that swimming is banned.

The province is also cracking down on parasol and swim tube rentals. Temporary shops and swimming facilities around beaches must be dismantled, as well.

폐장한 해수욕장 안전관리 강화

제주도가 폐장한 해수욕장 물놀이 사고 예방을 위해 후속 안전 대책을 추진합니다.

이를 위해 오는 7일까지 폐장한 해수욕장에 민간 안전요원을 상주 배치하고 물놀이 금지 현수막도 설치할 예정입니다.

아울러 파라솔이나 튜브 대여 영업 등을 단속하고 해수욕장 주변 임시 상가나 물놀이 시설물도 철거토록 할 계획입니다.
