1. ‘Job creation is top priority’
Governor orders provincial government to draw up policies

Governor Won Heeryong made the focus of his current term the creation of high-quality jobs, and he has ordered the provincial government to come up with policies in support of that goal.

At a weekly policy meeting Tuesday, the governor said the island needs good jobs for young workers and all Jeju residents.

He stressed the need for job creation to be prioritized in project planning and budget execution.

The province plans to form a job creation committee to oversee the efforts, and it plans to double the funding for job creation from the current 5 percent of the provincial budget to 10 percent in 2022.

제주도는 앞으로 일자리 대책 컨트롤타워인 일자리창출위원회를 운영할 예정이며
일자리 예산 비중도 올해 5%에서 2022년 10%로 두배 늘릴 방침입니다.
