5. Real-time location updates for parents of special needs kids
Program will keep parents informed of school bus location

Local officials plan to start a new service that gives the parents of special needs students real-time information on their location while they’re on their way to and from school.

The province, the education office, and the Kakao corporation will work together on the project for the parents of students at Youngji, Youngsong, and Onseong Schools.

Equipment will be installed on the children’s buses that send the vehicles’ current locations to parents by text.

The province will run the program on a trial basis this year, and then expand it next year to the buses used to transport people who have a hard time getting around on their own.

특수학교 '실시간 통학정보' 서비스 제공

특수학교 학부모들이 실시간으로 자녀들의 통학정보를 확인할 수 있는 서비스가 제공됩니다.

제주도와 제주도교육청, 주식회사 카카오는 올 연말까지 도내 특수학교인 영지학교와 영송, 온성학교 학부모들에게 이 같은 통학정보 서비스를 제공할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.

통학정보는 특수학교 버스에 장착된 단말기를 통해 차량의 현재 위치 같은 내용을 문자 등으로 전송됩니다.

제주도는 올해 시범 운영을 통해 내년에는 '교통약자 이동 지원 센터' 버스로도 확대할 예정입니다.
