4. Human rights survey at residential facilities for disabled
1-on-1 interviews at 5 of island’s 13 facilities

The province will survey the human rights situation at residential facilities for the disabled.

The process will be a joint project between the public and private sectors. Officials will select 11 people from the private sector who specialize in personal interviews. Researchers will then visit 5 out of the island’s 13 facilities for the disabled to survey residents.

Provincial officials say the one-on-one interviews with the disabled will help them uncover possible human rights violations at the facilities as well as determine how fair the resident selection process was.

제주특별자치도가 장애인거주시설에 대한 인권실태를 조사합니다.

이를 위해 민간 전문면담원 11명을 선발해 민관 합동으로 장애인거주시설 13개소 가운데 5곳을 방문해 조사하게 됩니다.

장애인 개인별 면담을 통한 인권 침해 여부를 중점적으로 확인하게 되며 입소과정에서의 공정성도 함께 조사할 계획입니다.
