2. ￦100,000 fine for obstructing spaces reserved for electric car charging
￦200,000 for erasing, damaging pavement lines

Drivers who park their regular vehicles in spaces reserved as charging spots for electric cars now face fines of 100,000 won.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy has announced the new rule, which is part of the revised Environmentally-friendly Vehicle Act.

Authorities will fine people who block the charging spots with a car, or any other object, 100,000. Anyone who erases or otherwise damages the lines on the pavement designating the space as reserved for electric car charging will be fined 200,000 won.

The changes went into effect September 21st, but in a bid to avoid confusion, the provincial government will begin levying fines in November.

전기차 충전구역 일반차량 주차 '과태료'

앞으로는 전기차 충전구역에 일반자동차를 주차하면 10만원의 과태료가 부과됩니다.

산업통상자원부는 이같은 내용을 골자로 한 친환경자동차법 시행령 일부 개정령을 공포했습니다.

또 충전구역내 또는 주변이나 진입로에 물건 등을 쌓을 경우에도 10만원의 과태료가, 충전구역선을 지우거나 훼손하면 20만원이 부과됩니다.

제주도는 친환경자동차법 시행령 개정령이 21일부터 적용되지만 도민 혼란을 방지하기 위해 실제 과태료 부과는 11월부터 시행할 방침입니다.
