5. Crackdown on illegal fishing boat operations
Seogwipo Coast Guard targeting area fishing vessels through Oct. 14

The Seogwipo Coast Guard began a crackdown on illegal fishing boat operations Monday, and will continue it through October 14th.

Officers expect the number of people using the boats to rise during the autumn.

The coast guard is focusing on area fishing vessels that falsely report port departures or arrivals, violate designated operating areas, whose captains operate them while drunk, and those that speed.

Violators will face administrative punishments.

해경, 불법 낚시어선 특별 단속

서귀포해양경찰서는 가을철 낚시어선 이용객이 증가할 것으로 예상되면서
24일부터 내달 14일까지 낚시어선 불법행위를 특별단속 합니다.

이에 따라 서귀포 지역 낚시어선을 대상으로 출·입항 허위 신고, 영업구역 위반,
음주 운항, 과속 운항 등을 중점적으로 살필 예정입니다.

해경은 점검 결과 위반행위가 적발되면 행정처분을 내릴 예정입니다.
