5. Jeju Water World Forum starts October 9
700 attendees expected

The 10th Jeju Water World Forum begins its three-day run October 9th at the Maison Glad Jeju Hotel.

Organizers say the 700 experts from here and abroad will include representatives from UNESCO headquarters, the Coordinating Committee for Geoscience Programmes in East and Southeast Asia, and the National University of Singapore.

Under the theme of “Water and Health,” they will discuss the excellence of Jeju water and suggest water conservation plans for sustainable development.

The Jeju World Water Forum is a venue for the international community to discuss all of the world’s water-related problems, as well as seek academic solutions and policies to tackle water issues faced by Asia-Pacific countries. The Jeju Province Development Corporation has hosted the forum since 2009.

제10회 제주물 세계포럼 내달 9일 개막

제10회 제주물 세계포럼이 다음달 9일부터 사흘동안 메종글래드 제주호텔에서 열립니다.

이번 포럼에는 유네스코본부와 아시아지질자원위원회, 싱가포르 국립대학교 등 국내외 전문가 700여 명이 참석합니다.

참석자들은 '물과 건강'을 주제로 제주지하수의 우수성과 지속가능 이용을 위한 물 관리.보전 방안에 대해 논의합니다.

제주물 세계포럼은 아시아-태평양 지역 국가들이 당면하고 있는 물 문제 극복을 위한 학술적,정책적 해법을 모색하는 자리로 제주개발공사가 지난 2009년부터 개최하고 있습니다.
