2. Provincial government receives ‘favorable’ assessment
Local residents evaluated work done by province last year

The provincial government has received a favorable assessment of its work last year.

The Office for Government Policy Coordination surveyed local residents and asked them for a written evaluation of the province as well as their satisfaction with its work. The province earned a score of 83.3, 1.6 points higher than for its work the previous year.

Higher exports and non-tax revenue were some of the main reasons for the positive evaluation, as was the streamlining of regulations, which was done to make local life easier for island residents.

Locals pinpointed three areas that needed improvements, though. They want an expansion to the ranks of inspectors on the provincial audit commission, the appointment of more women and the disabled to citizens committees, and the development of MICE industry markets.

지난해 제주특별자치도의 성과가 비교적 양호하다는 평가를 받았습니다.

국무조정실이 지난해 제주특별자치도 성과에 대해 서면 평가와 도민 만족도 설문조사를 실시한 결과 83.3 점으로 받아 전년 보다 1.6점 상승했습니다.

특히 수출액과 세외수입 등이 증가한 점과 주민편의 증진을 위한 규제정비 실적에서 좋은 평가를 받았습니다.

반면 감사위원회의 감사직렬 확대와 여성 또는 장애인의 주민자치위원 위촉, MICE 시장 발굴 분야는 개선사항으로 지적됐습니다.
