2. New banking institutions sought to hold provincial funding
Nonghyup currently holds general account, Jeju Bank has special account

The provincial government has announced that it will select new banking institutions to hold provincial funding.

Local officials will accept applications on October 25th and 26th. A special committee will then review the submissions and choose two institutions, which will be used from 2019 through the end of 2021.

The first of those two will be used to hold the island’s general account, the second will be in charge of the special account.

Nonghyup currently holds the general account, which was some 4.18 trillion won this year. That’s three times higher than the 1.4 trillion won special account, which is being held by Jeju Bank.


내년부터 3년간 제주도 금고 지정 공고

제주특별자치도가 내년부터 오는 2021년까지의 제주도 금고 지정을 위한 공고를 냈습니다.

접수는 10월 25일부터 이틀간이며, 10월 말쯤 제주도금고지정심의위원회의 심의를 거쳐 지정됩니다.

1순위 금융기관은 내년부터 오는 2021년까지 3년간 일반회계 금고로, 2순위는
특별회계 금고로 지정돼 운영됩니다.

현재 제1금고는 농협이, 제2금고는 제주은행이 맡고 있으며 올해를 기준으로
일반회계는 4조 1천 800억원, 특별회계와 기금은 1조 4천억원으로 3배 정도의 차이를 보이고 있습니다.
