Community councils say residents hired by hospital concerned about jobs

The community councils of (토평동)Topyeong-dong and Donghong, Segowipo say Greenland International Hospital should open as soon as possible.

Representatives from the councils held a press conference Monday at the provincial office. They claimed that residents of their communities who were hired by the hospital are concerned about the situation. Construction of the hospital was complete over one year ago, but the facility has still not received permission to open.

They say the local residents who are taking part in research about the possible opening should visit in person before making a final decision. The community representatives also called on the governor to issue a permit allowing the hospital to open as soon as possible, assuming no problems are uncovered.

서귀포시 토평동과 동홍마을회가 1일 오전 도민의 방에서 기자회견을 열고 녹지병원 준공 1년이 지나도록 허가가 이뤄지지 않아 마을 주민을 비롯해 병원에 채용된 도민들의 불안감이 커지고 있다며 조속한 개원을 촉구했습니다.

특히 공론조사 도민참여단에 대해 최종 결정 전에 녹지국제병원 현장을 직접 방문할 것을 요구하면서 원희룡 지사는 절차적 하자가 없다면 조속히 허가해야 한다고 강조했습니다.
