Crackdown on illegal driving in bus lanes begins October 10

The recent revision of the Jeju Special Act empowers the province to punish illegal users of bus lanes.

The central bus lanes are monitored 24 hours a day. If caught on camera, a ticket is issued to the car driving on a bus lane.

Ten cameras are watching the transit lanes from 7 to 9 in the morning and from 4:30 to 7:30 in the later rush hour.

If a car is caught on camera twice, a ticket is issued.

The fine is 40,000 to 60,000 won depending on the size of a car.

Drivers(before full implementation) caught on camera in bus lanes for the first time would be advised not to use the lanes and drivers caught twice would be warned. But drivers caught three or more times will get tickets for every violation.
