4. Kim Yong-soo wins ‘Heonma Gongsin Kim Man-il Award’
Ceremony scheduled for October 13 at Let’s Run Park

Kim Yong-soo has been selected as the winner of the second annual “Heonma Gongsin Kim Man-il Award.” Kim, who has been living with horses for a lifetime, runs his ranch at Aewol-eup in Jeju city.

Organizers of the award have recognized his contributions to preserve Jeju horse’s bloodline since the horses sent by him to the Jeju Livestock Promotion Institute were proved to be a descendant of Jeju horse.

Special Achievement Award has gone to late Go Tae-woo upon the recommendation of Jeju National Museum. He was called the last ‘Malteuri’ of Jeju. Malteuri is the Jeju dialect of a herder responsible for taking care of horses.

The award ceremony will take place at Let’s Run Park Jeju on the 13th of this month.



김용수씨 '헌마공신 김만일상' 수상

제2회 호국영웅 헌마공신 김만일상 수상자로 평생 말을 키워온 제주시 애월읍 김용수 씨가 선정됐습니다.

김용수씨가 제주축산진흥원에 보낸 제주마 대다수가 제주마의 후손일 정도로 혈통 보존 공로가 인정됐습니다.

또 김만일상 특별공로상에는 제주의 마지막 말테우리라 불렸던 고(故)고태오씨가 국립제주박물관의 추천으로 선정됐습니다.

시상식은 오는 13일 렛츠런파크 제주에서 개최됩니다.
