5. Inaugural ceremony for Jeju athletic team
515 local athletes will compete in National Sports Festival

Hundreds of people gathered Tuesday at Halla Gymnasium for the inaugural ceremony for the Jeju team that will compete in the National Sports Festival.

The festival begins Friday, October 12th in (전라북도) Jeollabuk-do.

The roughly 250 people at the ceremony included Governor (원희룡) Won Heeryong, council speaker (김태석)Kim Tae-seok, and education superintendent (이석문) Lee Seok-mun as well as the directors of various organizations, the principals of schools with student athletes, the athletes themselves, and members of area sports associations. Attendees shared their high hopes and firm determination to win at the upcoming games.

Jeju is sending 696 people to the mainland: 515 athletes and 181 staff. The local squad will participate in 34 events, and it has set a goal of bringing home more than 80 medals.

전국체전 제주도선수단 결단식

오는 12일 전라북도 전국체전 출전에 출전하는 제주선수단의 결단식이 2일 제주 한라체육관 보조경기장에서 열렸습니다.

결단식에는 원희룡 도지사와 김태석 의장, 이석문 교육감 등 각급 기관 단체장과 출전 학교장, 선수와 체육회 임직원 등 250여 명이 참석해 필승 의지를 다졌습니다.

제주도선수단은 34개 종목에 선수 515명 임원 181명 등 모두 696명을 파견해
80개 이상의 메달 획득을 목표로 하고 있습니다.
