Opponents of 2nd airport want more time to redo feasibility study

The committee working on the second feasibility study for the island’s second airport will decide by the end of this month whether to extend the research period.

Committee members gathered Thursday at the Seolmundae Center for their second meeting with land ministry officials. Attendees decided to make a final decision on the matter at their third meeting, which is scheduled for October 18th.

The reevaluation of the feasibility study for the facility was supposed to have been finished at the end of September. The (성산읍) Seongsan-eup airport opposition committee, which is participating in the process, has asked the land ministry for more to time to complete the research.
