Local officials have uncovered dozens of cases in which truck operators took advantage of fuel subsidies.

Jeju City representatives say they found 30 cases in which operators either repeatedly filled their tanks over a short period or filled them over capacity. The violators have been ordered to return a total of 56 million won in ill-gotten gains.

The city will cease offering subsidies to the trucks that were caught and tighten its monitoring of similar suspicious activities.

제주시는 화물차 유가보조금을 부정한 방법으로 수급한 혐의로 30건을 적발해
5천600만원의 환수금을 부과했다고 밝혔습니다.

적발된 차량은 단시간에 반복적으로 주유하거나 탱크용량을 초과해 기름을 넣는 등의 방법으로 부당 이익을 취한 것으로 드러났습니다.

제주시는 이번에 적발된 화물차에 대해 유가보조금 지급을 정지하고 의심 거래에 대한 모니터링을 강화할 예정입니다.
