3. Crackdown on cars in bus lanes
Fine of up to ￦60,000 beginning with 3rd violation

Authorities began Wednesday more strictly enforcing passenger vehicle bans in designated bus lanes.

The crackdown is underway on three stretches of road: from (광양) Gwangyang Rotary to Ara-dong, along the airport entrance road, and from Jeju National Museum to (무수천) Musucheon.

Drivers will be fined up to 60,000 won per violation beginning with the third infraction if they are caught on camera driving in the lanes.

About 170 vehicles per day drove illegally in the lanes through the end of August this year.

대중교통 우선차로 위반차량 단속 실시

대중교통 우선차로제 위반 차량 단속이 10일부터 시작됐습니다.

단속 구간은 광양로터리에서 아라동까지, 공항로의 중앙차로와 국립제주박물관부터 무수천까지 이어지는 가로변 차로입니다.

우선차로 구간에 설치된 CCTV에 두번 적발되면 단속 대상이며 3번째 적발 부터
최대 6만 원의 과태료가 부과됩니다.

한편 올들어 지난 8월까지 하루 평균 대중교통 우선차로제 위반차량은 하루 170대에 이르렀습니다.
