Jeju Democratic Party releases statement praising President Moon Jae-in

The Jeju branch of the Democratic Party released a statement Thursday thanking President Moon Jae-in and his administration for their work to resolve local issues and heal the wounds of local society.

The president recently attended the International Naval Review at the Jeju Naval Base in Gangjeong and delivered words of comfort to local residents who opposed the establishment of the installation.

The local party added that it will work harder to transform Jeju into a symbol of peace for both Korea and the wider world.

해군기지 건설 갈등에 대해 제주도민과 강정주민에게 위로의 말을 전했다며 제주의 갈등과 아픔을 치유하기 위해 노력하는 문재인 대통령과 정부 관계자들에게 감사를 전한다고 밝혔습니다.

그러면서 앞으로 제주도민과 함께 대한민국과 전세계 평화를 상징할 수 있는 곳으로 거듭나기 위해 더욱 노력하겠다고 강조했습니다.
