3. Work begins next year on Hwabuk Commercial Area
Scheduled for completion in 2022

The provincial government will begin developing the Hwabuk Commercial Area next year, with a plan to finish the work in 2022.

Local officials say the urban development project covers nearly 217,000 square meters of land in the Hwabuk area.

The site will first be replatted. The province has earmarked 56.8 billion won for the project, and that total includes money for land compensation.

Officials have eased building height regulations in the area. Accommodations can be as high as 55 meters, with other commercial structures capped at between 35 and 40 meters. That means a hotel could have as many as 19 floors and other buildings, 14 floors.

화북상업지역 내년 상반기 착공

제주시 화북상업지역 도시개발사업이 내년 상반기 착공돼 오는 2022년 완공됩니다.

제주도는 제주시 화북동 1400번지 일원 21만6천800여 ㎡를 상업중심의 시가지로 개발하는 내용의 도시개발사업을 고시했습니다.

개발은 환지방식으로 진행되며 보상비를 포함한 전체 사업비는 568억원 입니다.

고도는 대규모 숙박시설은 최대 55m, 상업지구는 35~40m로 완화돼 호텔은 최대 19층까지, 상업지역은 14층까지 지을수 있게 됐습니다.
