2. Chinese fishing boat seized
Vessel caught 135 km west of Chagwido for violating net regulations

The South Sea Fisheries Management Service, which is part of the oceans ministry, has seized a Chinese fishing boat.

The 66-ton vessel was captured around 6 p.m. Monday 135 kilometers west of Chagwido.

Authorities say the boat was using tight weave nets that scoop up all fish, including the young. They are not allowed in Korea’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

해양수산부 남해어업관리단은 어제（15일） 저녁 6시쯤 제주시 한경면 차귀도 서쪽 135km 부근해상에서 불법 조업한 혐의로 중국 66톤급 유망어선을 적발해 나포했습니다.

적발된 중국어선은 우리측 배타적 경제수역에서 그물코 규정을 위반한 촘촘한 그물을 사용해 치어까지 싹쓸이 조업한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.
