Province issues permits for 35% less area

The construction industry in Jeju continues to contract.

The provincial government says it issued building permits for 670 buildings last month. They have a combined area of 143,000 square meters, and that’s 35 percent less than in September 2017.

The area for residential permits dropped from 110,000 to just 66,000 square meters. Commercial construction fell from 57,000 to 46,000 square meters.

Provincial officials expect the trend to continue??the supply of unsold new homes continues to grow and market sentiment is decidedly bearish.

9월 건축허가 면적 전년 대비 35% 줄어

제주도내 건축허가 면적이 감소하고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 지난달 이뤄진 건축허가는 670동에 14만 3천 제곱미터로 지난해 같은 기간에 비해 35% 줄었습니다.

특히 주거용 건축물이 지난해 11만 제곱미터에서 올해 6만6천제곱미터로,
상업용 건축물이 지난해 5만7천제곱미터에서 올해 4만 6천제곱미터로 감소했습니다.

제주도는 미분양 주택수가 꾸준히 이어지고 있고 투자심리가 위축되면서 이같은 현상은 이어질 것으로 내다봤습니다.
