1. Seoul cuts fuel taxes 15%
Lower rate for 6 months from November 6

The national government is cutting fuel taxes by 15 percent for a six-month period.

The decision was made Wednesday during an economic ministerial meeting. The lower rate goes into effect November 6th.

The government says this will reduce gasoline prices by up to 123 won per liter, diesel prices by up to 87, and LPG prices by up to 30 won per liter. The energy ministry will receive daily reports from service and LPG stations to ensure their prices reflect the tax cut.

A liter of gas here in Jeju is currently an average of 1,734 won.


유류세 15% 인하…휘발유 1리터 123원 내려

정부는 24일 경제관계장관 회의를 열고 다음달 6일부터 6개월동안 한시적으로 유류세 15% 인하를 결정했습니다.

이렇게 되면 휘발유는 1리터에 최대 123원, 경유는 87원, LPG는 30원 정도 낮아질 전망입니다.

정부는 이와 함께 산업통상자원부를 중심으로 주유소나 LPG 충전소로부터 매일 판매가격을 보고받아 유류세 인하분이 제대로 반영되는지 확인하기로 했습니다.

현재 제주지역의 휘발유 가격은 1리터에 1천 734원을 기록하고 있습니다.
