2. Governor apologizes for deadly accident at Samdasoo plant
1 worker killed October 20

The governor has officially apologized for a recent deadly accident at a Samdasoo bottling plant run by the Jeju Province Development Company.

A worker died October 20th after getting caught in machinery at the plant.

In his Thursday statement, Governor Won Hee-ryong expressed his condolences to the bereaved and his prayers for the accident victim.
He offered a deep apology for the tragedy, saying that, as governor, public safety is his priority.

Won said he will spare no effort to support to the victim’s family, adding that he will take measures to ensure there is no repeat to this type of accident.

원 지사, 삼다수공장 사고 사과…"재발 방지"

제주도개발공사 삼다수공장에서 발생한 근로자 사망사고와 관련해 원희룡 지사가 공식 사과했습니다.

원 지사는 25일 발표한 사과문을 통해 고인의 명복을 빌고 유족들에게 깊은 애도와 위로를 드린다며 도민 안전을 최우선으로 삼아야할 도지사로서 심려를 끼쳐드린 점 깊이 사과드린다고 말했습니다.

원 지사는 유가족에게 희망이 될 수 있게 개발공사와 도정이 물심양면의 지원 또한 아끼지 않겠다며

다시는 유사한 사고가 되풀이 되지 않도록 재발방지 대책을 마련하겠다고 덧붙였습니다.
