5. Province wants to designate new preservation areas
New zones eyed on Chujado, around Second Sallok Road

The provincial government wants to designate the majority of (추자도) Chujado and the area around the Second Sallok Road on Hallasan Mountain as preservation areas.

It aims to make 3.4 square kilometers of Chujado an absolute preservation area and 2.7 square kilometers around the Second Sallok Road a relative preservation area. It is preparing a financing plan for the initiative before releasing details on the project to the public on November 8th.

After area residents get a chance to inspect the project and the provincial council approves it, the province will finalize the plan through a topographical map that includes the changes.

추자도·제2산록도로, 절·상대보전지역

추자도 토지 상당부분이 절대보전지역으로 지정되고, 한라산 제 2산록도로 주변은
상대보전지역으로 지정이 추진됩니다.

제주도는 추자도 3.4㎢를 절대보전지역으로 신규 지정하고 한라산 제2산록도로 주변 2.7㎢는 상대보전지역으로 지정하는 내용 등이 담긴 절대.상대보전지역 재정비안을 마련하고 다음달 8일까지 주민열람을 실시합니다.

최종안은 주민 열람과 제주도의회 동의를 거친 이후 지형도면 고시를 통해 확정됩니다.
