4. Crackdown on smoking in non-smoking areas
Violators will be fined ￦100,000

Jeju Health Center will inspect public facilities and other areas where smoking has been banned.

Officials will crack down on smoking in 13-hundred places, including internet cafes, school zones, and indoor sports facilities, from November 5th to the 23rd.

Anyone caught lighting up where they shouldn’t be will be fined 100,000 won.

Officials will also inform the public of new rules that go into effect next year banning smoking within 10 meters of kindergartens and preschools.

제주보건소, 금연구역 내 흡연 행위 단속

제주보건소가 공중이용시설과 법정 금연구역을 대상으로 지도 점검에 나섭니다.

다음달 5일부터 23일까지 PC방, 학교절대보호구역, 실내체육시설 등 1천 300여 곳에서 흡연 행위를 단속하게 됩니다.

특히 유치원과 어린이집 시설경계로부터 10미터 이내는 내년부터 법정 금연구역으로 지정됨에 따라 홍보 활동도 병행할 예정입니다.

금연구역에서 흡연하다가 적발될 경우 과태료 10만 원이 부과됩니다.
