3. Police to crack down on drunk driving
Mobile checkpoints and tougher penalties for 3 months

Police will begin a three-month crackdown on drunk driving in November.

They will focus on areas prone to alcohol-related traffic accidents.

In particular, they will run checkpoints every Friday night in popular drinking areas, such as those near restaurants and parks, and they will be changing their location every 20 to 30 minutes.

Police also plan to give violators harsher criminal punishments as well as take stricter administrative measures regarding their driving licenses.

다음달부터 석달간 음주운전 특별단속

경찰이 다음달부터 석달간 음주운전에 대한 특별단속을 실시합니다.

이에 따라 음주사고가 잦은 지역을 선정해 중점 단속합니다.

특히 매주 금요일 야간에는 유흥가와 식당, 유원지 등 음주운전 취약 장소를 중심으로 20 ~ 30분 단위로 장소를 수시로 옮기는 '스폿 이동식' 단속에 나설 방침입니다.

경찰은 또 음주운전에 대한 형사처분과 면허 행정처분을 강화할 계획입니다.
