5. Hallasan Soju passes water quality test
Previous results were inadequate

Hallasan Soju has passed a provincial water quality test, after coming up short in a previous inspection.

The province commissioned the Jeju Environmental Research Institute to test the groundwater used to produce the soju on October 19th.

The samples came back negative for E.coli and ammonia nitrogen. The trace amounts of nitrate nitrogen and hydrogen ions found were within acceptable limits.

Hallasan Soju representatives say the company will work to improve product quality and safety to prevent any further issues.

한라산소주 수질 '적합' 판정

수질 부적합 논란을 빚었던 한라산소주가 최근 검사에서 제주도로부터 적합 판정을 받았습니다.

제주도는 지난 19일, 한라산 소주 제조용 지하수를 채취해 보건환경연구원에
수질 검사를 의뢰했습니다.

검사 결과 총대장균과 암모니아성질소는 검출되지 않았고 질산성질소와 수소이온 농도는 기준치 이하로 나와 수질에 문제가 없는 것으로 나타났습니다.

한라산소주는 앞으로 수질 논란이 없도록 품질 안전성을 높이는데 노력하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
