5. Chusa Arts and Culture Festival this weekend
Activities and exhibitions at Chusa Memorial Hall

The 17th Chusa Arts and Culture Festival is this Saturday and Sunday at the Chusa Memorial Hall in Anseong-ri, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo.

The festival will shed light on the life and arts of Chusa Kim Jeong-hui, a scholar and calligrapher who was exiled to the island in the 1800s.

The Daejeong committee for the festival is organizing the event, which begins with a walk along the Chusa Exile Trail. The schedule also includes a (숭모제) “soongmojae” memorial service, a national caligraphy competition, and a reenactment of Kim’s exile.

Visitors will also be able to make traditional pottery, make rubbings of Chusa Kim Jeong-hui’s writings, view an exhibition of photo prints of the artist’s work, and enjoy other activities and displays.

제17회 추사문화예술제 내달 3~4일 개최

추사 김정희의 삶과 예술을 조명하는 제 17회 대정고을 추사문화 예술제가 다음달 3일과 4일 이틀 동안 서귀포시 대정읍 안성리 추사관에서 열립니다.

대정고을 추사문화 예술제추진위원회가 주관하는 이번 예술제는 추사유배길 걷기를 시작으로 숭모제와 전국 휘호대회, 유배행렬 재현 등으로 진행됩니다.

특히 전통옹기 만들기와 추사체 탁본 등 체험프로그램과 함께 추사체 영인본 전시를 통해 다양한 볼거리를 제공할 예정입니다.
