Figure up 4.4% in September compared to August

The Jeju branch of the Honam Regional Statistics Office says sales are improving at large retailers.

The gross sales index at large retailers in Jeju was 108.4 in September. That’s 0.2 percent lower than a year before, but its 4.4 percent higher than the month before. Analysts say that means the decline is leveling out.

Receipts for cosmetics and clothes dropped 12 percent and 4 percent, respectively, but sales figures were up for entertainment, hobby items, and electronics.

호남지방통계청 제주사무소에 따르면 9월 제주지역 대형소매점 판매액지수는 108.4로 지난해 같은 기간보다 0.2% 감소했습니다.

다만 지난달보다는 4.4% 증가해 하락세를 벗어난 것으로 분석되고 있습니다.

상품군별로 보면 화장품과 의복 등이 각각 12%와 4% 줄어들었고 오락, 취미 용품, 가전제품 등은 증가했습니다.
