3. Jeju City to scan public restrooms for hidden cameras
City buys 70 detection devices

There have been a growing number of reports nationwide about crimes involving hidden cameras, and Jeju City has outlined a plan to prevent the practice in area public restrooms.

Local officials have purchased 70 devices that use radar or lens detection technology to expose hidden recording equipment. The devices have been distributed to each administrative district in the city.

They will be used to scan the restrooms in government offices, libraries, cultural centers, and all other public facilities.

Jeju City will lend out the detectors to the operators of restaurants, accommodations, and other businesses to allow them to look for hidden cameras in privately-owned buildings, as well.

최근 몰카 범죄가 급증하면서 제주시가 공중화장실에서의 불법 촬영을 일제 점검합니다.

이를 위해 전파 탐지기와 렌즈 탐지기 70대를 구입해 각 읍면동에 보급했습니다.

점검 대상은 관공서 청사와 도서관, 문화시설 등 모든 공공시설에 있는 화장실입니다.

제주시는 음식점과 숙박업소 등 민간건물에 대해서는 불법촬영 탐지장비 대여창구를 마련해 지원하기로 했습니다.
