3. Seogwipo Coast Guard wraps up monthlong crackdown
26 marine pollution violations

The Seogwipo Coast Guard uncovered 26 violations over its one month marine pollution crackdown.

Most of the cases??16??involved leaving waste oil containers around ports and seven involved vessels that lacked the required marine pollution prevention certificate. Another two involved the direct dumping of waste into the sea, and the coast guard booked without detention the violators involved in those cases.

Everyone else was fined for their transgressions.

서귀포해경, 해양오염 26건 적발

서귀포해양경찰서가지난 한 달동안 해양오염특별단속을 실시한 결과 모두 26건의 각종 위반사항이 적발됐습니다.

유형별로는 항포구 주변에 폐기름 용기를 방치한 행위가 16건으로 가장 많았고
선박에 해양오염방지 검사증서를 비치하지 않은 경우 7건, 폐기물 바다 배출 행위 2건 등의 순으로 나타났습니다.

해경은 이 가운데 폐기물을 바다에 버린 행위 2건에 대해서는 불구속 입건해 수사하는 한편, 나머지 행위에 대해서는 과태료 처분을 내렸습니다.
