4. Province boosts job-related funding next year

The province will spend more money next year on job creation.

The provincial government has set aside 224.3 billion won for job-related projects. That’s 29 billion more than this year’s budget.

190 billion won is earmarked for direct job creation. Another 13.9 billion won will be used for employment subsidies, 11.5 billion is set aside for job training, and 1 billion is planned for startup support.

The province almost quintupled its support for young workers. It set aside 500 million won for a support program trial run this year, but that will go up to 2.4 billion won next year. It will also spend 3.2 billion won on a new job training and startup support center for young workers.

내년 일자리 사업 확대…2천 200억원 편성

내년 일자리 관련 사업이 확대 추진됩니다.

제주특별자치도는 내년 일자리 관련 예산안으로 올해보다 290억원 늘어난
2천 243억원을 편성했습니다.

유형별로는 직접 일자리 1천 900억원, 고용장려금 139억원, 직업훈련 115억원, 창업지원 10억원 등입니다.

특히 올해 시범 시행한 청년수당 예산을 5억원에서 24억원으로 늘렸으며 청년들의 교육 훈련과 창업 지원을 위해 사업비 32억원을 들여 '제주 더 큰 내일센터'를 설립합니다.
