Food, transportation, housing, electricity more expensive than last year

Prices for a wide range of local products and services went up in the third quarter this year.

The Jeju branch of the Honam Regional Statistics Office says the consumer price index was 105.5. That’s 1.4 percent higher than the same period last year.

Prices for education and telecommunications fell, but they were outpaced by rising costs for food products, transportation, housing, water, and electricity.

Meanwhile, the consumer price index for living necessities was up 0.9 percent over the same period to 105.2.

올해 3분기 제주지역 물가가 증가한 것으로 나타났습니다.

호남지방통계청에 따르면 올해 3분기 제주지역 소비자물가지수는 105.5로 지난해 같은 기간보다 1.4% 올랐습니다.

교육과 통신 가격은 내렸지만, 식료품과 교통, 주택, 수도 전기 요금 등이 오른 것으로 분석됐습니다.

한편, 체감물가를 나타내는 생활물가지수는 105.2로 지난해 같은 기간보다 0.9% 증가했습니다.
