4. Proposal to invite Kim Jong-un to Jeju
Provincial council will debate motion Wednesday

A provincial council member wants to officially request that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visit Jeju.

(강성민) Kang Seong-min submitted a motion in support of this year’s planned 4th inter-Korean summit, and it includes an invitation that he says is backed by some 1.2 million Jeju residents for the North Korean leader to visit Jeju, and Hallasan Mountain in particular.

24 lawmakers agreed to his proposal, so the full council will take it up during its fifth general meeting on Wednesday.

'김정은 위원장 제주 방문 결의안' 발의

제주도의회 강성민 의원이 북한 김정일 국무위원장의 제주 방문을 공식 요청하는 결의안을 대표 발의했습니다.

강 의원은 제 4차 남북정상회담의 연내 개최를 지지하면서 김 위원장의 제주와 한라산 방문을 요청하는 남북 120만 내외 제주도민들의 의지를 전하기 위해 제안했다고 밝혔습니다.

이번 결의안 발의에는 도의원 24명이 찬성한 가운데 21일 5차 본회의에 상정돼 처리될 예정입니다.
