2. Province gives up appeal in Eoeum wind farm case
Officials had tried to revoke development permit

The provincial government has admitted defeat in its attempt to cancel the development permit for a wind farm in (어음) Eoeum 2-ri.

The province had attempted to revoke both the development permit and the license it issued to create an electricity business. It lost the first court case, and it has now submitted its decision to cancel its appeal. Prosecutors have accepted that decision.

Provincial officials and advisory counsel reviewed the decision from the first trial and concluded that there was no practical benefit to the appeal and that the province was unlikely to win.

Analysts say this means the original developer, Hanhwa Engineering & Construction, is highly likely to resume work on the project.

항소에 따른 실익이 없고 승소 가능성도 낮다고 판단한 것으로 전해졌습니다.

이에 따라 어음풍력발전사업은 당초 사업자인 한화건설이 재추진할 가능성이
높아졌습니다.
