3. 46 Yemenis appeal Seoul’s decision
12 were granted humanitarian stay permits, 34 were denied everything

46 Yemenis who were denied asylum in Jeju have filed formal objections to the rulings with the Korean government.

The Jeju Immigration Service says they have filed the appeals with the Ministry of Justice. The 46 include 12 who had been granted humanitarian stay permits and 34 who were denied any type of refugee status.

If the objections are not accepted, they are allowed to later pursue administrative litigation.

The Justice ministry reviewed asylum applications from 481 Yemenis in Jeju. 362 were granted humanitarian stay permits and 34 were denied any type of special status.

난민 불허 예멘인 46명, 이의신청

제주에서 난민 지위를 인정받지 못한 예멘인 46명이 한국정부를 상대로 이의신청을 제기했습니다.

제주출입국외국인청에 따르면 지난달까지 진행된 난민심사에서 인도적 체류 허가를 받은 12명과 난민이 불허된 34명 등 예멘인 46명이 최근 법무부에 이의신청을 했습니다.

이들은 이의신청이 받아들여지지 않으면 추후 행정소송도 제기할 수 있습니다.

한편 법무부는 예멘인 난민신청자 481명을 심사해 362명은 인도적 체류허가, 34명은 난민 불허 결정을 내렸습니다.
