1. Outdoor-grown mandarin crop: 470,000 tons
‘Relatively good quality this year’

Researchers estimate this year’s crop of outdoor-grown mandarin oranges will amount to about 470,000 tons.

That’s based on the results of the mandarin observation committee’s third round of inspections.

It’s 7,000 tons below the estimate after the second round of observations in August. The committee forecasts about 194,000 tons in Jeju City and about 276,000 in Seogwipo.

The soluble acid ratio of the fruit is 11, which is 0.7 lower than last year about 0.5 above average. Researchers say that means relatively high-quality fruit.

올해 노지감귤 예상생산량이 47만톤 내외로 예측됐습니다.

제주특별자치도 감귤관측조사위원회가 최근 올해산 노지감귤에 대한 3차 관측조사결과 이같이 나타났습니다.

이는 지난 8월 2차 관측에 비해 7천톤 감소한 것으로 제주시 지역은 19만 4천톤, 서귀포는 27만 6천톤으로 예측됐습니다.

당산비는 11로 지난해에 비해 0.7 낮지만 평년보다 0.5 높아 품질은 대체로 양호한 것으로 평가받고 있습니다.
