Jeju Provincial Police Agency to transfer another 130 officers next year

The Jeju Municipal Police force will be getting more officers from the provincial police next year during the third round of personnel transfers.

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency says it will transfer roughly 130 officers to the municipal police as part of regular personnel changes in the first half of next year.

Those being transferred include officers currently assigned to precinct stations, regional patrol officers, and staff at 1-1-2 emergency response offices.

They will be assigned to issues related to area residents’ daily lives, such as dealing with inebriated people and solving traffic problems.

National Police Agency Chief (민갑룡) Min Gab-ryong on Thursday visited the municipal police’s eastern patrol station. He checked how things were running after the second transfer of officers from the provincial police, and he promised active support of the municipal police force as it continues to grow and take on more responsibilities.

내년 상반기 제주지방경찰청 소속 국가경찰 130여 명이 3차로 자치경찰에 파견됩니다.

경찰청은 내년 상반기 정기인사에 맞춰 국가경찰 130여 명을 자치경찰단에 추가 파견한다고 밝혔습니다.

파견 대상은 지구대 파출소와 같은 지역경찰 순찰인력을 비롯해 112상황실 요원 등 제주 국가경찰 130여 명입니다.

내년 3차 파견이 이뤄지면 제주 전역에서 주취자 보호와 교통불편 등 주민생활과 밀접한 112신고를 자치경찰이 처리하게 됩니다.

민갑룡 경찰청장은 29일 오전 제주자치경찰단 동부순찰대에 방문해 현재 2단계 파견이 완료된 자치경찰의 운영상황을 점검하고 앞으로 자치경찰 확대를 위한 국가경찰의 적극적인 지원을 약속했습니다.
