7. Shinrae Hog Farm certified as model for odor reduction
Windowless buildings combined with ventilation system

The provincial government has certified ‘Shinrae Hog Farm’ in Namwon-eup as a model for odor reduction.

It has nine buildings that house 25-hundred animals. It scored high on a recent assessment for a number of reasons. The facility underwent a modernization program that included the installation of a climate control system and a ventilation system, while all windows have been removed from the buildings.

The odors from the farm, as measured in four areas around it, were all well within acceptable limits.

The province will give incentives to the farm and it plans to set up a field study program that includes visit to it.


남원읍 '신례양돈' 냄새저감 모범농가 인증

제주특별자치도가 냄새저감 실천 모범농가로 남원읍의 '신례양돈'을 선정했습니다.

돈사 9동에 돼지 2천 500마리를 사육하고 있는 이 농가는 현대화사업을 통해
냉난방시설을 갖춘 환기시스템과 창문이 없는 무창화돈사를 운영해 높은 점수를 받았습니다.

특히 주변 4개 지점에서 이뤄진 악취 측정에서 모두 기준치 이하를 보였습니다.

제주도는 해당 농가에 인센티브를 제공하는 한편 현장견학 프로그램을 개발해 운영할 계획입니다.
