2. Moon Dae-rim cleared of election law charges
Bribery case still under investigation

Among the accusations and charges of wrongdoing aimed at multiple gubernatorial candidates regarding the June 13th elections, Democratic Party candidate Moon Dae-rim has been cleared of accusations of violating election law.

The Jeju District Prosecutor’s Office dismissed charges against Moon for allegedly spreading false information, which would be a violation of the Public Official Election Act.

He was accused of spreading false information by raising suspicions that Governor Won Heeryong, who eventually won re-election, received special membership benefits at Biotopia. Prosecutors concluded that he had no intention to lie and that what he said was based on reasonable suspicions.

Another investigation against Moon remains open. Authorities are probing allegations of bribery against him for receiving special membership at the (타미우스)Tameus Golf Club.

검찰, 문대림 선거법 위반 '혐의 없음'

지난 6.13지방선거 과정에서 도지사 후보들간 치열한 고소·고발전이 이어졌던 가운데 문대림 당시 더불어민주당 제주도지사 후보에 대한 선거법 위반 사건은 혐의없음으로 처리됐습니다.

제주지방검찰청은 공직선거법상 허위사실공표 혐의로 고발됐던 문대림 전 후보에 대한 수사를 마무리하고 무혐의 처리했다고 밝혔습니다.

검찰은 문 후보가 원희룡 지사에 대한 비오토피아 특별회원권 특혜의혹을 제기하며 허위사실 공표 혐의로 고발당했지만 허위성에 대한 고의가 없었을 뿐더러 합리적 의심에 따른 주장 여지가 있다고 판단했습니다.

이와는 별도로 타미우스 골프장 특별회원권 뇌물수수 혐의에 대한 수사는 계속되고 있습니다.
