Seogwipo authorities find 11 violations in 2 months

Seogwipo authorities have uncovered nearly a dozen illegal accommodations during an ongoing crackdown.

Officials began inspections of unsold townhouses and apartments as well as rural guesthouses in October. They found 11 that were being illegally used as accommodations in the first two months of the crackdown, and they have filed criminal charges against the owners.

Most of the cases, 8, involved rural guesthouses, and the most common problem among them was that the owners had not properly registered their businesses.

Seogwipo authorities will continue this crackdown on guesthouse violations through the end of December.

미신고 불법 숙박업소 무더기 적발

서귀포지역에서 불법 영업하던 숙박업소가 무더기로 적발됐습니다.

서귀포시는 지난 10월부터 두달 동안 미분양 타운하우스와 아파트,
농어촌민박을 대상으로 불법 숙박영업을 단속해 11건을 적발하고 형사 고발했습니다.

적발 유형을 보면 농어촌 민박이 8건으로 가장 많았고, 대부분 행정에 신고를 하지 않은 채 불법으로 숙박영업한 것으로 드러났습니다.

서귀포시는 이달 말까지는 게스트하우스를 대상으로 운영실태와 불법 행위도 단속할 계획입니다.
