Jeju has an increasing number of registered sex offenders, so the public registry with their personal information is growing accordingly.

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency says that, as of October, there were 832 registered sex offenders on the island.

367 were in districts run by the Jeju Dongbu Police Station, 246 were in areas under the jurisdiction of the Seobu Police Station, and 210 were in zones overseen by the Seogwipo Police Station.

The police have given the responsibility to manage the island’s sex offenders to officers in charge of women’s and youth issues. They regularly update information about their location.

제주에 거주하는 성범죄자가 급증하면서 성범죄 신상정보 등록 대상자도 크게 증가하고 있습니다.

제주지방경찰청에 따르면 지난 10월기준으로 제주에 거주하는 성범죄자 신상정보 등록대상자는 모두 832명에 이르고 있습니다.

지역별로는 제주동부경찰서 관할이 367명으로 가장 많았고, 서부경찰서 246명, 서귀포경찰서 210명 순이었습니다.

경찰은 여성청소년수사팀원 전원을 성범죄자 관리요원으로 지정해 주기적인 소재지 파악 등 지속적인 관리에 나서고 있습니다.
