2. ‘CCTV smart control system’ at Jeju elementary schools
Feeds from all security cameras will be sent to CCTV control center
All elementary schools in Jeju will be included in a so-called “CCTV smart control system.”
The 1,100 surveillance cameras installed in the schools and at their playgrounds will run 24/7, and all information they capture will be routed to the CCTV control center. Authorities will thereby be able to monitor for trespassing at night and other problems.
The provincial government will spend 970 million won on the project, which is seen as a trial run before expanding the system to include the island’s middle and high schools.
