1. First hearing in governor’s trial set for December 13
Won Heeryong will lose position if found guilty and fined at least ￦1m

The first hearing in the pre-electioneering case against Governor Won Heeryong is December 13th.

Proceedings begin at 2 p.m. in Jeju District Court room 201.

Another four people, including a former director at the provincial office surnamed “Oh,” will be standing trial in addition to the governor. They have been accused of violating the Public Official Election Act by being involved in third party donations.

If the governor is fined one million won or more for violating the Public Official Election Act, he will lose the governorship.

특히, 원 지사가 재판에 넘겨지면서 공직선거법상 제3자 기부행위로 함께 기소된
전직 제주도청 오 모 국장 등 4명도 이날 함께 법정에 서게됩니다.

현직 도지사 신분의 원희룡 지사가 공직선거법상 벌금 100만 원 이상의 형을 확정받으면 지사직을 잃습니다.
