4. Provincial council blasts governor for hospital decision
‘No longer qualified to lead Jeju’

The provincial council has condemned Governor Won Heeryong for approving the opening of Greenland International Hospital.

(정민구) Jeong Min-gu, who sits on the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, argued during a Thursday budget meeting that because the governor ignored the results of public opinion polling on the issue, he is no longer qualified for the position.

Council member (안창남) An Chang-nam said Won should take responsibility for breaking his promise to listen only to the needs of Jeju residents.

Lawmaker (문종태) Moon Jong-tae said it was urgent to determine what exactly the governor was referring to when he mentioned “political duty.”

Finally, budget committee Chairman (고현수) Go Hyeon-soo is invoking his authority to demand Governor Won’s presence at the committee before it begins budget deliberations.

도의회, "영리병원 허가 도지사 자격 없어"

제주도의회가 영리병원을 허가한 원희룡 지사를 강도 높게 비판했습니다

제주도의회 예산결산특별위원회 정민구 의원은 6일 예산안 심사에서 불허 권고안에도 도민 여론을 무시하고 허가 결정을 내린 원지사는 더 이상 지사 자격이 없다고 주장했습니다.

안창남 의원은 원 지사는 도민만 바라보겠다는 약속을 져버린 것에 대해 책임져야 한다고 강조했습니다.

문종태 의원은 원희룡 지사가 언급한 정치적 책임이 무엇을 의미하는지 구체적으로 밝힐 것을 촉구했습니다.

한편 고현수 예결위원장은 행정시 예산안 심사 직전에 직권으로 원희룡 지사의 의회 출석을 요구했습니다.
