4. Animal Inspection Center to open at Jeju Port
￦1.3b facility equipped to sterilize vehicles

An animal inspection center will be up and running at Jeju Port by the end of the month as part of efforts to prevent local outbreaks of dangerous livestock diseases.

The two-floor center on Pier 6 cost 1.3 billion won. It will include vehicle sterilization equipment and a quarantine office.

Jeju Veterinary Service Laboratory officials say the opening of the center will markedly facilitate both the disinfection of livestock transport vehicles and crackdowns on illegal shipments to the island of banned livestock.

이달 안으로 제주항에 악성 가축전염병 예방을 위한 동물검역센터가 운영됩니다.

제주항 6부두에 총 13억 원이 투입된 동물검역센터는 지상 2층 규모로 차량소독시설과 방역사무실 등이 갖춰집니다.

동물위생시험소는 동물검역센터가 완공되면 제주항에서 축산 차량 소독과 가축 불법 반입 단속 업무가 수월해질 것으로 기대했습니다.
