Ministry refused to extend work of 2nd airport review committee

Civic organizations oppose the land ministry’s Thursday refusal to extend the work of the committee reviewing the site feasibility study for the island’s second airport.

Members of two anti-airport committees, one based in Seongsan and the other representing the entire island, held a press conference at the Provincial Office Friday afternoon. They argued that the ministry’s refusal amounted to a forceful push in support of the construction of the new airport.

They vowed to actively respond to what they called the ministry’s “deception.”
