Korean Confederation of Trade Unions opposes hospital decision

Labor activists in Jeju are calling on the governor to resign because of his decision to conditionally allow the opening of the nation’s first for-profit hospital.

The Jeju branch of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a press conference Monday at the Provincial Office and said Won Heeryong must resign because he ignored the results of public polling by authorizing the opening of Greenland International Hospital.

Union representatives said they will hold candlelight vigils in front of Jeju city hall and begin other actions in support of Won’s resignation.

이들은 앞으로 시청 앞에서 촛불집회를 여는 등 적극적인 퇴진 운동을 펼치겠다고
강조했습니다.
