4. Fuel prices tumble to lowest point of year
National government cut taxes in November

In some good news for drivers, fuel on the island is now the cheapest it’s been all year, following the national government’s reduction of fuel taxes.

According to the Korea National Oil Corporation’s Opinet, local gasoline was selling for an average of 1,445 won per liter as of December 18th.

Diesel also fell to its lowest price of the year: 1,353 won per liter.

Seoul cut taxes on gas and diesel by 15 percent each last month. Prices have fallen by more than 100 won per liter since then.

정부의 유류세 인하 정책으로 제주지역 기름 값이 올 들어 가장 싼 가격에 거래되고 있습니다.

유가정보 사이트 오피넷에 따르면 16일 도내 주유소 휘발유 평균 판매가격은
1리터에 1천 447원으로 올 들어 가장 낮았습니다.

경유 판매가격도 리터당 1천 355원으로 올 들어 최저치를 기록했습니다.

정부가 지난달 부터 휘발유와 경유 유류세를 각각 15%씩 내리면서 판매 단가도 리터당 100원 이상 낮아졌습니다.
